5/20//07: New Developments

Our driveway and culvert installation are completed. In addition, we have widened our entrance so larger horse trailers can have easier access into our ranch. Better parking, added culverts, and properly sloped drainage ditches will certainly help make our customers more comfortable when they visit.

"Clues Fantastic Heir" our yearling colt out of our halter mare "Fantastic Reflection", will be shown in halter in Katy at the Britannia Farms Summer Classic on July 20th through July 22nd. It is a multiple judged AQHA event. His training and conditioning are a focus and priority for us at this time.

Turley Ranch has signed a contract on purchase for an additional nine acres that adjoins the current property. This would boost the ranch acerage to 56.x acres. More details to follow soon.

This week our longhorns will be moving over to D-Talk Ranch to help provide for additional activities with the horse camps they are running this summer.

Over the last few months, I have dedicated significant time towards breaking our two-year-old red roan. She is now "rideable" and is continuing her training on our ranch. "Fantastic Reflection" has been at D-Talk ranch for almost 60 days for barrel training and will most likely remain there through the end of June.

5/14//07: Crawfish Boil

The May 5th, 8th Annual Turley Ranch CrawfishBoil was a stunning success. We had an estimated 90 to 100 people turnout for the most entertaining event we have ever held. In addition to the 226 pounds of crawfish consumed, we ran two steer scrambles, a packed hayride, and a successful Kentucky Derby raffle. Many new friends and several old ones rolled into town and we appreciate everyone taking the time to visit our small south Texas ranch.
