August News
8/30/07: Halter Show Clues Fantastic Heir competed in another open show (Saturday, August 25th) in Angleton in the yearling halter stallion and jackpot classes. The bad news is that there were no other competitors in those classes. The good news is that he placed first in both. Regardless, it is good to get him prepared for a halter showing and get him out in an arena with other horses. The AQHA show in Fort Bend on September 22 will be the real test. |
8/28/07: 9 Acres With the purchase of the adjacent nine acres complete, I have been working to get the area functional as a cattle paddock. We have our roping steers back and they are grazing on the new property. Water and fencing considerations are being dealt with. |
8/24/07: June Bug and Fancy - Vet Visit Jabalina June Bug and Fantastic Reflection were taken to the vet today. Each had a small sarcoid removed as a preventative measure. Approximately 44% of horses between the ages of 3 and 5 will develop a sarcoid. Best to catch them early. |
8/19/07: Palomino Purchase We purchased a seven-year-old, triple registered, Palomino foundation broodmare today. The price was right and she is bred to have a 2008 baby. Here registered name is Dudes Fancy Investor. She has investor and Skipper W bloodlines. |
8/2//07: Thursday Barrel and Poles Practice We will be setting up the timers every Thurday for barrels and poles practice. We get started at 5PM and charge $10 a person. We also usually have the PA system setup with some music playing. If the weather is in question, please call before you haul. |
8/1//07: Angleton Open Show Last Saturday, July 28th, our young stallion Clu (Clues Fantastic Heir) won first place in the Yearling Stallion class and in the Jackpot class at the end of the show. Thanks to everyone who helped us get him prepped and who was at the show to support us. |
